You only need 5 ingredients to make delicious and easy sushi rice.

Sushi Rice: also known as short grain rice or Japanese rice

Water: preferably distilled water

Rice Wine Vinegar: 100% pure rice wine vinegar with zero sugar or salt

Organic Coconut Palm Sugar: an excellent alternative to white and brown sugar (one of my favs)

Himalayan Pink Salt: the queen of all seasonings . . . in my opinion

Step 1

Gather all ingredients, a small bowl, a mixing spoon, measuring cups and spoons, and your crockpot.

Prep the sushi rice dressing: add the rice wine vinegar, coconut sugar, and Himalayan pink salt to a small bowl and stir until dissolved.

Step 2

Rinse and drain one cup of sushi rice well. Water should be clear and not cloudy as shown below.

Step 3

Add the rinsed sushi rice to the crock pot and cook using the rice, high pressure, and high temperature settings. The rice will take about 12-15 minutes to cook (depending on your crockpot abilities). Once complete, allow the rice to sit for 10 minutes.

Step 4

Fold the sushi dressing in the rice and use immediately. I remember one of my aunts instructing me to place a damp cloth over the mouth of the pan or container the sushi rice if you will not use it right away.
