Ola my friend! My vegan season started Sunday, January 21, 2024. The first 7 days, I am eating live foods only aka raw vegan. SEVEN days and raw live foods only? This is a huge challenge for me. But it is so exciting! I know that my excitement may peak and dip throughout the week so I will have to be prepared and creative. So, how long am I going vegan this year? What are you going to eat? Keep reading for all the details.

Purpose (My Why)
My purpose for going vegan is to stay in the habit of leading a healthier lifestyle. Being a good steward of my body is important to me. The body is a wonder in itself. Every single part of your body is on purpose and for a purpose. All of your organs and body parts are essential. Your body give you feedback all the time. If your body loves what you just did, it will respond accordingly. If the body don’t like what you just did or ate, it will respond in kind. Even if the response is subtle or seemingly delayed, there will be a response. So pay attention and have your body’s back because your body got yours (no pun intended).
Fortunately, I love the challenge and the discipline required to stay consistent during my vegan season.
Motivation
Here are some of my top motivations:
- Clear skin and glowing from the inside out
- Healthier and longer hair
- Weight management (I want to scale down in size and stay that size)
- Mental clarity
- Inexhaustible energy (yes let me claim it because nothing is impossible)
- My past experience going vegan. Read about it here.
Biggest Success Factor
Ok the the biggest success factor for me during this vegan season is meal prepping. Meal prepping is mind over matter for me. Adaeze, just do it. Get up and do it. Research meal prepping hacks and meal ideas. Plan your meals. Have the inspirational containers to put the meals in. Make time to prepare the meals and snacks. Put the food in the meal prep containers and enjoy.
Remember, you will do what you want to. So I really want to do this so I will do it.
My healthier eating journey will be so much more successful when I discpline myself to learn and implement meal prepping.
The biggest ways that meal prepping will help me are as follows:
- I’ll save money. For example, buying food because you are hungry verses because you have a plan and can think clearly has a different impact on your bank account. You’ll probably overspend when you are hungry because your eyes tend to be bigger than your stomach.
- I’ll avoid energy zappers. For example, imagine all the energy you will save from not feeling frustrated because you don’t have to go search for healthy and quality food last minute and in a time crunch.
- I’ll save so much time. Imagine getting up in the morning, grabbing your lunch and going out the door. Now imagine being able to do this consistently becaues you meal prepped for the week versus taking leftovers the next day.
- I’ll have peace of mind. For example, being prepared with something healthy and good and not having to settle for something convenient but not nutritious is such a great feeling.
