The Best Homemade Peanut Butter Cups in 10 minutes

Ola my friend! Ever wondered how to make peanut butter cups? They are so easy and quick to make. These vegan homemade peanut butter cups may cause you to forget that they are healthy. I prefer these over any store bought chocolate candy because I know exactly what is in it and it taste great.

This was a spur of the moment blooper that ended up in my list of top 5 emergency vegan snacks. The idea popped in my mind while tasting the dough for my vegan peanut butter cookies. The dough was the perfect filling for these peanut butter cups. Ok ready for some fun? Let’s go!

Homemade Peanut Butter Cups Ingredients & Prep

  • Peanut Butter Cookie Dough
  • Dark Chocolate / Cocoa
  • Paper candy cups
  1. Melt the dark chocolate in a bowl.
  2. Pour a small amount of the melted chocolate in candy cups.
  3. Tip the cups from side to side so chocolate can cover the insides of the cups.
  4. Mold a small portion of peanut butter dough into a ball and place inside the candy cups.
  5. Pour the remaining melted chocolate on top of the peanut butter dough covering thoroughly.
  6. Place the candy cups in the fridge for 10 minutes or until the chocolate is firm / solid.

Notes

  • The dough from the vegan peanut butter cookies are perfect for this recipe.
  • The chocolate can be made using baker’s cocoa as well.
  • I used Moser Roth’s Dark 85% Cocoa found at Aldi’s but feel free to use your preferred chocolate.
  • Dollar tree generally carry basic paper candy cups perfect for sweets like this one.
  • Feel free to sprinkle a little salt on top of the peanut butter cups right before placing in the fridge.
