Ola my friend! Let’s talk about Mexican food. Have you ever tried Birria tacos? They are so delicious. In the past, I posted about Birria bombs that I tried here. They were great. But I do not think I was ready for these birria tacos and “quesabirrias”. To say they were amazing is an understatement.
Don’t take my word for it. You will have to try for yourself. In the meantime, check out my experience. Let’s go!

What are Birria Tacos & Quesabirrias?
Birria tacos are marinated juicy lamb or beef or goat meat shredded and stuffed in a corn tortilla pan-fried crispy brown. It is generally served with birria broth, fresh lime slices, cilantro, onions, and salsa.
Quesabirrias are birria quesadillas with the same contents as the birria tacos but with lots of cheese.

My Birria Tacos & “Quesabirrias” Reaction and Review
Quality and quantity are the two things that I initially watch out for when trying new foods at new places.
Here’s my take on Chef Tastebudz (take-out):
Quality
- Presentation:
- basic styrofoam take-out containers used to keep the delicious contents warm and safe
- the food is arranged perfectly in the container and looks absolutely appealing
- your mouth will water just looking at it!
- Aroma: open the container and welcome a pungent and pleasant mix of aromas that complement each other perfectly:
- lively citrus aroma from the fresh lime slices and cilantro
- sharp potent aroma from the onions
- hearty marinated meat aroma from the beef
- Taste:
- the corn tortillas were crispy around the edges which gave it such a nice crunch
- the was meat juicy, tender, and flavorful
- the chunky green salsa was medium spicy and satisfying flavor . . . . really good
- dunk the taco face first into the cup of broth and resist wanting to pass out from happiness
- broth was rich and savory . . . . so comforting
- add a little fresh cilantro, onion, avocado, and a squeeze of lime juice . . . . no comment
Quantity
- I picked up one taco and it was a little heavy from the weight of the beef
- The portions were respectful. A half of the quesabirria filled the large section of the take-out plate. You have my respect Chef Tastebudz. Two taco birrias will fill you up if you get rice and beans. Otherwise you would get three taco birrias.
Nice work. My rating is 5/5.
Next steps with Birria Tacos
I have four simple next steps with no specific timeline:
- Try birria pizza one day. I know it will be good.
- Treat myself to birria tacos and quesabirillas around this time next year. God’s willing.
- Try making goat or lamb birria tacos and quesabirillas with vegan cheese and bell peppers.
- Try making vegan birria tacos using jackfruit.
Until Next Time
