Thanksgiving Dinner Flashback Memories

The Menu

  1. Soul Food Style Kale Greens
  2. Seasoned Corn
  3. Vegan Cheesy Mac & Cheese
  4. Soul Food Style Candied Yams (Sweet Potatoes)
  5. Soul Food Style Cornbread Dressing
  6. Baked Cajun Jumbo Turkey Wings
  7. Blackberry Orange Non-alcoholic Punch
  8. Homemade Butter Pecan Ice cream
  9. Homemade Vegan Pecan Pie

Why This Dinner was My Favorite

  1. Everything was made from scratch. There is nothing like a home cooked meal. Every dish was made with love.
  2. All of the sides were vegan except for the cornbread dressing. I used chicken broth instead of vegetable broth for the corn bread dressing. Next time, I will use vegetable broth.
  3. All of the food smelled so delicious and tasted so so so good. The only thing is that I felt like the cornbread was on the salty side but my brother didn’t think so at all. I am going to keep working on that recipe and share it with you all once I perfect it.
  4. My brother enjoyed everything so much. My brother is an athlete so he brought a big and healthy appetite. The absolute best thing that day was knowing that he enjoyed the food so much.
  5. We shared the leftovers (and extra turkey that I didn’t cook) with others.

Was the food good?

Yes! Yes! Yes! The food was so good. Don’t worry about those sweet potatoes left on the plate. They were demolished after getting my second wind.
