Ola my friend! Do you want goat meat that is tender, seasoned well, juicy, and falls over the bone? This is the best curry goat recipe you will ever make and eat! The keys lie in the tools and preparation. I needed to make goat meat curry fast and it had to be delicious. My mind instantly started devising ways to accomplish making goat meat curry that would bring tears of joy and perfect silence as the brain tries to comprehend how the food could taste so good.
Here’s what I came up with. I only want to highlight the ingredients and how to prep. The ingredient quantity was at my discretion. So I encourage to measure to your liking and tastes. Let me know if you end up trying this on your own and what adjustments you made if any.
Coconut Curry Goat Ingredients & Prep
- 2 Yellow Onions
- 3 Tomatoes
- 3 tbsp Minced Garlic
- 3-5 Redskin Potatoes (small / medium)
- 1.5 lb Goat Meat
- 3.5 tbsp Blue Mountain Jamaican Curry Powder Hot
- 1/4 tsp Ground White Pepper Powder
- 1/4 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 2-3 tsp Himalayan Black/Pink Salt
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- 3/4 cup Coconut Milk
- 1/2 cup Water
- Place goat meat in crock pot with water, minced garlic, and Himalayan Pink Salt. Select the meat setting which should be high pressure for 35 minutes (or something similar).
- Cut up the onions, tomatoes, and redskin potatoes into medium to large sized chunks
- Add the garlic, olive oil, onions, tomatoes and redskin potatoes to the wok (pan).
- Stir fry on high heat for several minutes.
- Add the curry powder, ground white pepper powder, smoked paprika, and salt to the stir fry.
- Next, slowly add the coconut milk to the wok and stir gently for a couple of minutes.
- Next, add the water to the wok and stir gently for a couple of minutes.
- Then, add the goat meat (and a little of the goat meat juice) to the wok once the crock pot timer ends.
- Finally, let the goat meat curry simmer on low heat for at least 10 minutes.
Notes
- I prepared the curry with the vegetables while the goat meat was cooking in the crock pot. So the curry was ready for the goat meat once the goat meat was done. I let the goat meat simmer in the curry for some time so that all of the good spices could permeate down to the bones.
- Feel free to pair this curry with plantains, brown rice, and vegetable of your choice like I did. The plantains were so sticky, (naturally) sweet and delicious.
- This curry goat is a bit spicy. My spice tolerance is quite high so this may be extremely spicy for some. No problem, just use less pepper or eliminate it all together. The Blue Mountain Jamaican Curry Powder Hot is not hot at all to me. However, some may disagree with me so be aware of this as well. They have a mild version that you may enjoy a lot.
