You must be intentional when leading a healthier lifestyle. Your effort always pay off in the long run and manifests in your health, financial stability, and more. There’s a proverb that says, “in all labour there’s profit”. So stick to your health goals.

In this post, I’m going to share 7 simple yet profound ways to stick to your health goals. Ready for better health and wellness? Let’s go!

Subscribe to Inspiring Food Blogs

Following a food blog that you can relate to is fun. If you have the email space then subscribe to receive curated newsletters straight to your inbox. Otherwise, follow them on social media and stay updated as well as inspired to stick to your eating healthy goals. Remember there are a wide range of health goals as well as health and wellness blogs out there so be sure to subscribe to the ones that push you closer to your goals.

For example, if you are vegan or non-vegan but want to cook more at home vs eating out then you can follow blogs like:

Immaculate Bites focuses on comfort foods from around the world. I have been inspired by several of her recipes.

Healthier Steps shares many vegan and gluten free recipes. You must try this mango lemonade.

100 Days of Real Food have many resources including apps to help you plan meals that uses real food and not processed food. It includes meat.

Oh How She Glows shares plant based only recipes.

The Soul Food Pot focuses on home cooked southern (non-vegan) soul food meals. She has a podcast too. Soul food doesn’t automatically equals unhealthy. I want to try this mouthwatering southern cabbage recipe (with vegan butter).

Subscribe to Motivational Food Vlogs

Food vlogs are the video version of food blogs. Generally, vlogs are located on youtube. This is so easy to do. Just subscribe and turn on your notifications and this way you are updated when another video is released.

Here are some vlogs I am subscribed to:

Join or Start A Cookbook Club

A good family friend was letting me know the other day how she joined a cookbook club. A cookbook club is where you take a cook book and everyone in the group makes the same recipe and then get together to try the meals each person made. This can be really fun to do with friends. But this is a great way to gain confidence and inspiration for trying new dishes and eating home cooked meals more than eating out.

Have Meatless Monday

. . . . or a No Refined Sugar Saturday . . . . or Low/No Sodium Sunday. Pick one or do all three. You get the idea. One of my dear family members shared with me her Meatless Mondays are a treat and she don’t even miss the meat. This a small and effective way to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Join a Better Health Challenge

Your healthcare or health benefits provider may send you emails about ways to earn points which usually translates to funds that can go towards your health care needs. Here’s an example of a Nutrition Challenge that helps you with meal prepping and equips you with tiny tips to reach your health goals.

Visit Your Local Health Food Store

Do not underestimate your local health food store. If you need to google search locations, then using keywords like ‘natural food’, ‘organic market’, ‘health food store’ should all work. Sometimes, these places will help fill in the gaps in your weekly health routine with natural vitamins, minerals, teas, herbs, etc. If they have a restaurant then awesome. Try it out for inspiration. I know co-worker shared how they tried a restaurant and how their whole outlook on vegan food changed. They had a black bean burger and it was so good. They did mention it was expensive but worth it.

Some examples include:

Ann’s Health Food Center & Market in Dallas, TX

Organic Food and Vitamin Center in Ferndale, MI

Invest in a Food Journal

This can be as chic as Clever Fox’s Food Journal or as simple as a spiral notebook. This is the notebook that I love to use. I use my journal to offload all my ideas from my mind onto paper. From meal prep ideas, recipes, grocery lists, recipe creation ideas, etc. My notebook journal captures it all in one place. It’s motivating because it keeps me excited and saves me time with planning meals.
